Looking to sum up the feelings surrounding this year’s Tube and Wire Expo, which took place in Dusseldorf between April 24–28, two words immediately spring to mind: ‘opportunities’ and ‘optimism’. This is sharp contrast to attitudes over the previous couple of shows where an air of subdued caution and uncertainty had prevailed. This new positivism was shared not only by the organisation of the meeting but also by exhibiting manufacturers/suppliers and visiting end-users alike. The tube and wire business is definitely booming again, and most manufacturers are already in the envious position of having their order books filled for the remainder of 2006.
